This year the Pennsylvania Renaissance Faire, along with Association for Science in Autism Treatment (www.asatonline.org), is hosting Rockin’ for Autism Awareness on Saturday, July 31st, 2010. This event will be held at the Pennsylvania Renaissance Faire’s outdoor venue and will include musical entertainment and a variety of family-friendly activities. There will be activities for children, as well as raffles to win great prizes! The Pennsylvania Renaissance Faire hosts many events, and has graciously provided the use of the fairgrounds for this exciting concert.

Why?
The Rockin’ for Autism Awareness Event is designed to promote autism awareness and education about best practices, and provide a wonderful fun-filled evening for everyone to come enjoy food, drink, and the live music of three well-known bands.

You may not know that recent studies report that there are 673,000 children affected by autism in the United States. Current estimates suggest that 1 in 150 children have autism spectrum disorder. Each year, countless Pennsylvania families spend thousands of dollars on unproven treatments for their child with autism. ASAT’s mission is to disseminate accurate information about autism treatments so that all families are able to identify and choose effective, scientifically-validated interventions for their child!
